Soooo things in my private area has been very hectic and mostly messy as well recently.
Hopefully it is all settling down now and after the holidays.
So then it will be just work keeping me away from making blogs, builds and stories. But that will be less than before as well, so I should be back in bussiness soon ;)
I did start on my new build, which is completed yet sadly as I am waiting on RAM......
And IT-Shizuma and me has started on a nice amazing new project. Which will take some time to conclude but it is getting there!! Woohooo!!
There are so many ideas floating and going through our minds that we are both buzzing to get cracking again on keeping you all entertained again.
For now I could make a huge write up on what was been going on, but I will not put you through that.
Happy holidays to everybody!!!
See you all soon.
As said in the previous post I have been ordering a few bits and bobs here and there for my new build!!
Then all of a sudden the doorbell rings and the thrill of receiving ordered items starts. Will it be my new PSU, CPU or something else?? Slowly my new parts are coming in now. And I couldn't hold back the urge of showing them off ;)
Excuse my goodie-spamming :P
So here we go with the most parts received, just new RAM and graphics card missing to complete it. But they will be ordered end this week or beginning next week. Then I will start building. Which I will record for you all.
Will be my first recording for such matters, so that will be exciting!!!
Now let start with some goodies!!!
First of all my new mainboard.
ASUS ROG MAXIMUS IX APEX E-ATX.
Intel i7 7700k Kaby Lake.
Corsair H100i v2.
Corsair MP500 M.2 120GB.
Overview of what has arrived and the “King” which will hold all these parts at some point!!!
I am so hyped and thrilled with finally making myself a new gaming-rig that I had to show you :P
So it was time to ponder more about a new rig for myself. Done quite some thinking about what I wanted to build next. This is a more or less ongoing process in my head.
My thoughts about a new rig started a longer while ago when the Ryzen AM4 came out. I was kinda hyped and excited to have a go on a Ryzen build.
After some reading and diving deeper in the ins and outs of this new spec AMD processors I came to the conclusion that they are highly potential and stable. But also not truly suitable for my personal use ( gaming ).
Sadly I had no patience and I already bought an AM4 mainboard…….so yes I will do a Ryzen build as well. But first I want to focus and finish my new gaming rig.
What do I want? And how do I roll towards it
A build with good and decent parts. Clean build. High performance with the parts used. So nicely synced to work smoothly in this build.
Research, reading and also asking around a lot…..
Decided I wanted another Intel build.
Decided and ordered!!
Going for an Intel i7 7700k Kaby Lake to be the heart of my new rig. Running 4.2GHz on idle with a turboboost to 4.5GHz. With even higher potential when you decide to overclock it.
The mainboard I bought for is the ASUS ROG Maximus IX APEX. A beautifully design from ROG, with a lot of extra features and tweaking options. Main reason I picked this board is that it is an extended ATX ( E-ATX ), meaning it is slightly bigger than a normal ATX board. Which is a perfect option for the massive Cooler Master Cosmos II it will all be placed in.
Another very important thing in a build like this is the PSU ( Power Supply Unit ). For me this is seen as the backbone of a build. And I see a lot of nice builds with absolutely horrible PSU’s in them.
A PSU must be as stable as possible in the output, the more fluently the output runs through the rest of the components the better it will be for the performance and lifespan of the parts.
I bought a Corsair HX1000i for my build. This is a high performance 1000w PSU. I can say a lot about this PSU, but I won’t. I will make a full post at some point about the high value of a good decent PSU instead.
Things to continue pondering on......
About the lungs ( RAM ) of this new rig I am a bit unsure still. It only has two RAM slots, so I need 2x16 bricks to have something decent. But there is so many options and price-ranges around that I need to do a bit more research on them. But I will end up buying Corsair RAM, now to figure out which range of them. Will be continued ;)
Same story goes with a new graphics card…..I am completely unsure on what to go for at the moment. I would love to try some different ones in this build at some point, so I can keep my options open on it. Will definitely be an AMD one though, will stay loyal to that ;)
Sooooo……all of this will be installed in my currently still unwrapped Cooler Master Cosmos II. With of course the clean build addiction in my head!!! Crazy IT-Monkey…..I will make a video of this process which I will share with you all of course. Stay tuned for more updates!!
For some people "King" under the cases.
It is an amazingly strong build case.
With so many options/features and space that it is a true pleasure to work on and in.
Many preinstalled options are already there when you look at this 22kg weighing beast of an Ultra Case.
Many fan-options and places. Easy to use fancontroller with LED's that will show which speed they are on.
Fits multiple GPU's with no issues. Massive water-cooling setups are easy to fit and mess around with.
How it became a “King”
I will list a few of the features here which give this case the WOW!! factor for me.
See the space!! It is huge and so useful in all ways possible.
This is the back of the mainboard tray. Which as you can see is spacious and great for making it a clean build.
Monkey going bananas!!
The last pictures above are actually from my own Cosmos ( the good one that is ).
So I won't start wrapping that one, but a spare one ;)
Don't mind my fancy wallpaper by the way!!
I am absolutely unsure how it will look, and if the color fits my new build. But without trying no one will ever know!!
More updates will follow during the week I hope. Stay tuned on CyberZany!!
What is Ordo Ab [Chao]?
It is an amazing relaxed Guild in Guild Wars 2!! Helpful, friendly, semi-hard-core and very active!
Let me tell you lot a bit about the guild itself.
Ordo Ab Chao, is an odd name. And I get many questions about it. But to be short about the meaning.
It means Order out of Chaos/Order from Disorder.
And there is a Norwegian metal-band called Mayhem with an amazing album called Ordo Ad Chao.
Which was a nice intented pun :)
This guild has been up and running more or less since day one of gw2. And I have been in there since day one as well obviously.
Been a mainly PvE focussed guild for a long time, with a lot of friends from before etc.
At some point, like many guilds. People became inactive, got kids, married, blablabla you know the stories.
But now it is up and running again ;) Woohoo!!
How did we became what we are now.
IT-Shizuma and myself were leading another Guild before, where we both all of a sudden got involved in a lot of drama and things went bad from there.
So the both of us decided to jump into Chao as that guild was already there and also nicely upgraded as well. Which would save us a lot of effort and in-game money in the journey to make it all up to the max level.
From there on we got quite a lot of people with us to Chao from the Guild that we left behind.
And of course we are actively recruiting new members, we are growing nicely and we got an amazing core.
Like for the WvW raids what we are still kinda focussing on we are one of the bigger Guilds on closed raids currently. Which is amazing for a small-ish Guild what we still are. But our core is amazing and very active!!
We are all very pleased with how it is all going in the Guild. And for me as a Guild Leader it is a true thrill to be part of this bunch of amazing people!!
What do we want to become?
More or less what we are now :) Friendly, active and also able to get serious stuff done throughout the game. Like the massive WvW raids, PvE raids, Fractals, Dungeons etc. We try to cover as much content as we can with our members. We help them, try to evolve them and give them training in the several game modes as well.
We don't want to become overly big. We are recruiting currently with 2 big requirements. 18+ and on Piken Square server. This for our WvW focus.
If you got more questions about Ordo Ab [Chao], or if you are even interested in joining our amazing guild feel free to contact me or IT-Shizuma.
Break and a piece of life
Sooooo.....after a long break I started working again at my old employer last Monday. Been away for quite a while, as I dove in some adventures in life.
Been living in Norway for a while, trying to build a new life there. Sadly the relationship I had that dragged me to that beautiful country went wrong at some point.
Next to that my father was having serious health issues which made the choice to go back to my parents and care for them more. Did some rebuilding on the horse stables when I was back with them.
Back and further!
After a while I needed to get busy again for myself! So I called the company I worked for about 20 years. Asked them if they could use and wanted me back in there for a while.
“Of course” they said. So we agreed that they would find me some nice projects to work on for while.
So this Monday I started again. Loads of talking with my old co-workers and such. Diving into the project they gave me to work on. Which involves checking all the trucks that come in with the old paper and cardboard that we use to make new cardboard sheets.
Yes I work and used to work for a massive worldwide cardboard factory ;)
The project involves more than just checking the trucks that come in. It also involves instructing the people working with it. Making data-bases with all the data we gather. Working on complaints. Talking with suppliers and in-between companies. And most of all, thinking about how to get this started on the other plants we have. That is and will be the biggest challenge, different factories, different people and a lot of traveling between them are things I will encounter. But I love projects like this!!! They give so much to do and next to that a lot of freedom to do so. Which is amazing that they give us such chances to get involved in the company deeper.
First week over, weekend!!
First week is over now, 6 days straight. Over 10 hours a day. Happy times! :) Feeling satisfied and such with how it is going already. Being busy again next to my own things is great!!
Now the evening will be relaxing behind Guild Wars and the people I like to spend time with. The Sunday is a bit undecided yet. But most likely mostly Guild Wars and perhaps some thinking about my next computer build of which I will make a write-up too. Also about the pondering on that! :)
Hmmm....this was supposed to be posted last night! I made the post but forgot to publish, sorry :P
Sunday story might come as well today. Stay tuned to CyberZany :)
So as mentioned in the previous post you have reached level 80 and are ready for the real challenges that are all over the game. Also in all the content there are real hard challenges.
For instance the PvE raids where IT-Shizuma wrote about. This is a real challenge as you can read here :) But it is amazingly fun with a group of fun people!!
In the other game modes it is always a proper challenge to be honest. In WvW there are always amazing enemy groups to fight. Which will always need adapting and changing ways on how the people work together and how to synergize a squad.
In PvP there will always be hardcore players that you will meet at some point!! Also great fun and very useful to learn your own personal skills. As it is another player you will encounter which will always be different than facing controlled enemies.
More to do? Ohhh yes!!
Next to this there are a lot of achievements to do. Which will give you at certain points reached nice presents, buffs and special items that are only obtained through getting your achievement points up.
Map completion, crafting in a lot of different specialties, role-playing, loads of events all over, world-bosses, jumping puzzles, guild-missions and many many more great stuff to do on your own or as groups/guilds.
Expansion....Monkey jumped into a wrong prejudice.
In the last expansion which is called Path of Fire they added mounts to the game,
which makes map exploration and such way more easy.
This was an update that I personally was very sceptical about.
As it was leaning too much to World of Warcraft for me.
But I was completely wrong with that, it is an amazing feature that they added!!
The mounts are beautiful and useful, also the quests involved getting them and all the achievements linked with it are amazingly made! So the new expansion was a very welcome chapter added to the game.
More to come tomorrow :) I will do a small going into our Guild called Ordo Ab Chao.
But first some sleep and more work tomorrow.
What is Guild Wars 2?
First of all it is a game where we spend a lot of time in and on being Guild-Leaders of Ordo Ab[Chao].
Therefor I want to warn you for long posts regarding Guild Wars 2. I will split them up a bit though.
It is an MMORPG that has been released slighty over 5 years ago now. Which is still very popular and often played by “friend groups”. There are 3 typical game-modes. PVE ( Player vs Enviroment ), PVP ( Player vs Player ) and WvW ( World vs World ).
The basics of the game are pretty straight forward like in most MMORPG's. You choose a race, gender and profession. After that you can fiddle around with the basics on how you would look like in the amazing world that is called
These alchemagical inventors may be short in stature, but they're intellectual giants. Among the asura, it's not the strong who survive, but the clever. Other races believe they should rule by virtue of their power and strength, but they're deluding themselves. In due time, all will serve the asura.
The charr race was forged in the merciless crucible of war. It is all they know. War defines them, and their quest for dominion drives them ever onward. The weak and the foolish have no place among the charr. Victory is all that matters, and it must be achieved by any means and at any cost.
Humans have lost their homeland, their security, and their former glory. Even their gods have withdrawn. And yet, the human spirit remains unshaken. These brave defenders of Kryta continue to fight with every ounce of their strength.
The race of towering hunters experienced a great defeat when the Ice Dragon drove them from their glacial homeland. Nevertheless, they won't let one lost battle - however punishing - dampen their enthusiasm for life and the hunt. They know that only the ultimate victor achieves legendary rewards.
Sylvari are not born. They awaken beneath the Pale Tree with knowledge gleaned in their pre-life Dream. These noble beings travel, seeking adventure and pursuing quests. They struggle to balance curiosity with duty, eagerness with chivalry, and warfare with honor. Magic and mystery entwine to shape the future of this race that has so recently appeared.
Well ermm......female or male. Not much to say here......
Currently there are 9 professions to choose from. Divided in 3 groups.
Heavy armored frontliners with both damage and sustainability.
Master of protection due to special virtue traitlines. Giving boons to allies, healing and a lot of damage output as well.
Released in the first real expansion of the game. Channeling Legendary stances to buff up allies, damage enemies and to withstand a lot of damage too.
Pure power class, loads of damage with the benefits of heavy armor a very very welcome and often seen profession in all game-modes.
Medium armored mid-liners. Mixing ranged and melee weapons with usually a lot of evassive skills.
Masster of mechanical mayhem. Turrets, toolkits, flamethrowers etc!! Quick on their feet and very powerful when played correctly.
Leaning backwards against a tree, using the natural surroundings to the fullest to withstand and deal damage. Accompanied with a huge range of different pets.
Stealthy damage monsters! Stealing skills from others, stealthing away and using crazy bursts to kill enemies.
Light armored caster classes, with a huge variety in options on how to be played.
Attuning the four elements, which gives them an incredible amount of different skills and options to go into battle and to survive those battles too.
Illusions, clones, phantasms are the hiding place for a real mesmer. Hiding in the middle of the crazy numbers of clones. Confusing enemies to madness. Killing them off with shattering the clones!
Life force! Extra healthpool! Minions! Using wells, corruptions, shroud skills to spread insane condition damage which 'fears' a lot of people.
Done preparing! Ready for battle!
Now it starts with leveling your character up to the max level which is 80. You can level up through doing the storyline which is very beautiful if you pay attention to the cut-scenes and such. And you can also go through the huge amount of world-maps. They are filled with quests, Vista's ( places that show you a part of the map with a small story ), hero-points and point of interests.
Throughout the way of leveling, gaining experience and learning the characters way to play you will get a lot of loot. Armor, weapons, random bags with goodies etc.
Which will eventually help you gearing up your character for the real challenges that awaits you when you reach level 80.
This is it for today!! More tomorrow or the day after. Depending on the WvW raid I will command.
Let me try and give you a small insight in how a day for me looks like. I won't go in to deep in the matters of work and such. But will try to keep it understandable, so you can see how a normal day looks like.
The start of a day
Waking up early-ish after mostly a too short night. Shower. Coffee. Hour drive to work.
Work, which involves loads of talking and pondering about projects in how to improve and obtimalize the company I work for without wasting loads of money and recourses.
Wandering around over the company grounds, talking with co-workers about the running projects and their opinions on them. Most of these talks to hand in hand with barrels of horrible tasting machine coffee.
After about 8 to 9 hours of work another hour drive back home.
First things first......a man has to eat so dinner it is :)
And then my evening starts. Which I usually spend behind the computers.
I am an active Guild-Wars 2 player. Where I lead a very active Guild together with IT-Shizuma with the most amazing members and atmosphere! It is a true way for me to relax and clear my head of the real-world drama diving into a virtual world with friends and people with the same interests.
In a later post I will go deeper into Guild-Wars 2 and our Guild there. Stay tuned!
Computer enthausiast since my father got his first computer for his work. I managed to dismantle it in the 3rd week after he got it. And ohhhh he was amused! Especially with the fact that his work spend over a month to get it fixed/replaced.
Well done Monkey!!
This made me so triggered and hyped for electronics that I started taking apart everything that was more or less electronic. Walkmans, videorecorders, televisions.....nothing was safe. And usually I managed to get them back in working order as well ( sometimes completely not though, wrecking my precious tapes ).
Monkey was naughty.....
Then the time came that I got my first own computer. And yeah, I couldn't resist opening it up. Messing around with the internals and making the fuses in the house go boom several times. Years I messed around with old computers and left overs from my parents. Till the time came that I made my own income!! First thing I bought back then was fancy IBM ( cannot remember the specs ).
Kept fiddling around with my computers and always found ways and tweaks to upgrade them in any ways possible.
Nowadays I focus on proper builds. Good brands, strong materials and high performance.
Also when a build is on a “budget” I manage to get the most value out of the money.
The sourcing products, reading reviews and making tests are a very relaxing and pleasant way to spend my spare time with.
After that the ordering and receiving is like a kids birthday!!!
The building is a different story, I am a perfectionist I guess. Cable management and having everything to look clean and smooth ( or over the top shiny ) is a way for me to keep busy :)
Monkey in space!! Or call it the future :)
Planning on doing many more builds in the future, as well for myself as for customers.
Never been into writing stuff like this before, but I am looking forward to make some nice stories about my builds and other random stuff I encounter during the days on this planet.
I hope you liked reading my first story! There will be more coming!
