The time we live in demands us to work hard and deal with stress but, how can we do that?
We do all have our ways to relax. Some of us run, some paint, rides a horse, reads, game etc.
I like to game or on other nights, fire some lights, make a cup tea, and play some relaxing calm music in the background while I find a blanket and a good book.
To relax in the evening isn't always enough. I've found that short breaks are smart. While at work, I make two breaks about 5 min each, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, besides the lunch of course.
I take a short walk outside getting some air; I leave the phone inside and try to avoid people.
In the IT business (and other professions) people = work. On my short walks, I don't think about work and I look at the sky rather than the ground.
When it rains I run through the rain to find some shelter in the parts of our ground where no one else is, and I try to enjoy it as much as I can. With or without music.
Remember to rise up and walk around while you work, fetch some coffee/tea/water and do work things other places than your desk. If you've had a long day just sitting there alone, go and find someone to talk to in person. In addition, texting with a friend makes wonders for your mood and it builds a good friendship when you show that you're interested in them.
Remember that if you are satisfied with where and how you work it will show in your mood. If you have the possibility to change where you sit or make a few changes to your office, do it.
You decorate your home right? Well you use almost as much time at work, so why not make it as comfortable as possible when you first have to be there. Then you can have some energy for your life when work hours is done.
You don't need to use a lot of time to do these things, and when you do it you'll feel more relaxed, satisfied and ready for when the day begin, when you come home from work to your friends and family.
