I was listening to the SysAdmin song, and when he says "sometimes he just push the caps lock button and walks away" it made me think about how many times I've done the same. It's starting to get a couple of times.
Two buttons can make a lot of trouble.
The first one is the caps lock, somehow people forget that it exists until they push it, without knowing, and everything they write are in capital letters. Some people actually manage to find it for themselves, because they do it so often that it has become a habit. Then again there are some that are more than willing to keep the caps lock on so they can shout everything they write.
The second key is far more interesting and even more difficult for them to fix, the Num Lock key. This is a key hidden from their sight on the other end of the keyboard and are seldom pushed by accident. When it happens, it’s a disaster for the user. Sometimes on old keyboards, there are no evidence or indication that the key has been pushed, until they try to do some accountant work or if there are numbers in their passwords.
So what do we do to fix these kind of disasters? We push the button!
