USB cam be called so many things and the other day I learnd the importance to ask questions to get a full overview of what the problem really is.
When people describe the problem you link it to situations you have been in before, the problem is that, people describe things defferently from eachother.
Where someone calls it a USB, oters may say where we save our pictures, which may be confusing if you have a system where everyone saves pictures.
Someone calls it a disk, the stick, the pen, the harddrive, the computer, the thing I got from a coworker.
When someone ask for help, don’t just listen to what they describe, also ask them questions which can lead you to the acctual problem. You have to know,
are the USB pluged in?
Do they know how to transfer a dokument from the USB to their computer?
Is the antivirus blocking it?
Is it a Grouppolicy that makes it impossible to use USB on the computer?
Is it at all a USB or is it a camera?
And this is just a few questions that can be asked.
And the most important thing, Ask the questions and fix the problem, without making them feel dumb. When you achive this skill, you are truly an IT person.
