My custom buildt computer
-Inspired by ROG
Case: Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower
Motherboard: Asus Rampage V extreme
CPU: i7-5820K socket LGA 2011-3 Water-cooled
RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR4 2666MHz 16GB
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 FURY X Water-cooled
PSU: Corsair RM1000W
Disks: Asus ROG 240 GB raidr express pcie ssd, SSD 240GB, SSD 110GB x2, 2TB HDD,1TB HDD, 500GB HDD, 300GB HDD
It's a bit messy in there, I'm going to fix that soon.
I also have a test raid setup made by 3x 250GB HDD in an external docking. I have a small mountain of HDD lying around here.
In the attic I have a real DELL flat server, where I have installed ESXi, but more on that later.
Keyboard: Das Keyboard 4
Kaypad: Razer Tartarus
Mouse: Logitech g700s
Headset: Sennheiser PC350 SE
Speakers: Logitech Z506 PC
Webcam: Microsoft LifeCam Cinema
Mic: Blue Yeti
Monitors: Asus 27" LED FreeSync MG278Q (main)
2x24" Different ones
Philips 47" (for my Xbox One, and use it for movies from my pc)
My brother asked me, “why these components? It’s a bit overkill” and my only “reasonable answer were “because I can” I don’t really need that setup to be like that, but it’s so cool and I enjoy it. I use so much time with my computer that I should be of some quality.
Next thing I want to do with it, is to mount real water-cooling, I think that would look nice. I think I could fit anther GPU in there, but the one I have is high end and somewhat expensive so that will not be the first thing I add. I also want to add more RAM so it adds up to 32GB, I believe I am go to do some video editing in the future.
I want and I want, have to be a bit smart with the money too sadly. The machine is more than good enough as it is. On the other hand, I want to mod it and make it really cool looking. I’m a big fan of ROG so I’ll probably do something Asus-like in the future
So this is the test score I got. I actually thought I would score a bit higher, but oh well. But I would really like it 3DMark added a function to suggest what I could do to improve the test score, like what upgrade I should make or settings I should change. That would be really cool.
That’s it for now, there will be more post about my setup later. I hope you enjoyed it
Talk to you all soon
New and better!
Today's post is about design, gaming and some people you should know about. There will also be reveal a little secret in today`s post.
After a dry period of time I`ve decided to continue the work on this site with renewed focus. And with a happy spirit.
I thought I would start off this new era with a new design. First of I made some changes to the website myself with a new theme and added new things as well as deleting some pages, feel free to look around and see the changes.
Then after that I roamed the internet on the hunt for a graphical designer who could make me something I could like. I stumbled over something great, Nerd or Die!
Above you can see the new banner and to the left you can see the new logo, these are just a few of the things Nerd Or Die have made for me
I want to introduce you all to some awesome people from Nerd or Die which is a small group of brilliant people.
Mini-Interview with Nerd Or Die
Lately I`ve been asking this kind of question to most of the new people I`ve met, it`s always inspiring to listen to and I`ve also gotten a lot of tips and trick as well as life lessons this way, you should try it too. So of course I had to ask Derek as well:
Did you get an education for graphical design or did you just suddenly end up working with it?
Derek: No, I went to school for something completely different. I always liked to mess around in Photoshop, web design, and even 3D programs. One day I sort of fell into a job where they needed a graphic and web designer. So, I just started teaching myself through books and online tutorials. Which I think is why I got into making Twitch and graphic design tutorials. I always thought I could make them a bit better, so that's what I`m going for. I try to put myself in my shoes 6+ years ago and think about what I would need to know, and put that in the tutorials.
Could you give us a quick idea of Nerd Or Die?
Derek: Nerd Or Die... I started it years ago, and for the past ~2 years I've been doing free resources and designs for Twitch. Lately, we've had a lot of requests coming in, so I brought on two excellent designers/friends to start helping me out. For this project, I worked mainly as Creative Director and Chris did a majority of the design
The graphical designers
Derek is the one I`ve had contact with. He was professional and polite all the way through the process and managed with ease to discover what I wanted even with my brave, but not well formulated, description.
I didn`t think about it at first, but he is located at the other side of the world from where I`m from, but he still didn`t bite when I bugged him in the middle in the night.
He also had a good routine for his work and there was no confusion about deals and dates. At this point I know I can trust him to keep his end of the deal in future commissions
If you click his logo you will find his twitter
Chris is the newest member of Nerd or Die and were the one who made most of the designs for me. I must say he did a marvellous job and I wish him all the luck in world in the future as a part of Nerd or Die!

The end, and the secret!
It`s been a good experience commissioning these people, I suggest you all consider them if you ever need a team of graphical designers in the future. They listen, suggest and they don`t bite, even if you bug them all around the clock.
This is a fitting start for the website and myself. Now, time for the secret: I will reveal that you may see more of me and this design on twitch in the future. I`ll know more in July/august. But more of that in a later post.
Talk to you all soon!
