The complete PC build
As you know, I’m going to The Gathering 2017, and I’ve already started my preparations. First off I started to build the “Reol” shelf that I’m going to bring with me. This will be holding my computer, tools, food and drinks, it also has some nice extra equipment, but I’m going to make a full blog post about it after the event.
In this post I will show you what kind of machine I will be bringing to the event, which components it has and why I’ve chosen this one.
For the first time ever I’ve not built it myself, this is actually a used machine I bought from someone I found on the internet. It’s a good enough machine and I couldn’t have built a new one as good as this for less money, well I could maybe, but this is what I choose.
BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX blue.
This is the perfect size to fit into my shelf, it has some great cooling opportunities and has space for a full sized GPU. For being a Mini ITX cabinet its quite big, but then again is has space for two radiators. It also has space for a few 120 fans.
Both side panels and top panel are possible to remove which makes it easier to work in it. A bit tight by the PSU, so either use a non-modular PSU or connect all the pins on your PSU before mounting it. It’s also possible to mount a ton of HDD/SDD but I only need two, in this machine.
I’m actually considering switching the cabinet into the same model but in black, I don’t really like the blue color that’s on this, but maybe I’ll grow to accept it later on…
